Cegedim Rx account manager rescues mother and child
Cegedim Rx account manager, Jamie Mayall, has rescued a trapped mother and child from a car accident on the M2 motorway in Kent.
The car in front of Mr Mayall had swerved violently and hit the bank at the side of the motorway, sending it spinning into the air before it came to a rest on its roof on the banking.
Mr Mayall described what happened next, “I immediately braked hard and pulled across onto the hard shoulder. As I got out of my car and ran to the upturned vehicle, I could see that the woman trapped inside was struggling to open her door to get out.
I pulled hard on the door, allowing her to crawl out; she was visibly in shock and had an injury to her head.”
Mr Mayall realised that there was also a child inside the car, but could not open any of the doors or windows to free the little girl. He crawled through the driver’s door to the back of the car where he released the little girl’s harness and carried her out.
When the emergency services arrived, Mr Mayall gave a full statement to the police and the emergency teams thanked him for his heroic actions. The mother and daughter are understood to have been taken to a local hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.
Mr Mayall concludes, “I feel fortunate to have been at the right place at the right time, and that no one was seriously injured".
